About Us
AP Labs is a premier provider of embedded computer systems and rugged enclosures to support a wide range of military and aerospace applications.
Founded in 1984, the company began as a pioneering systems integrator in the use of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) equipment to address complex, ruggedized and real-time computing challenges. Over the past 25 years, AP Labs has also built up a strong set of in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities, plus an array of specialized product designs that can be readily adapted to meet the demands of new programs and emerging applications.
With experience from hundreds of projects, AP Labs offers the broad expertise and organizational flexibility to seamlessly work within a variety of programs and multi-partner development scenarios. A full set of qualifications such as ISO-9001-2000 certification, DCAS accounting compliance, FAR 19.102 small business status, and MIL-SPEC capabilities, enables the company to successfully fulfill a variety of roles, such as product supplier, sub-contractor, prime contractor and/or program manager.
By leveraging this long track-record of engineering excellence, project management and manufacturing capabilities, AP Labs provides a unique blend of both COTS and specialized systems design that can be custom-tailored to meet the most demanding requirements of our customers and program-partners. In addition to our broad base of engineering expertise – mechanical, electrical, and software – we are structured to provide the programmatic labor which defense programs often require: project planning and execution, acceptance test development, testing, documentation, installation, training, and support.
Headquartered in San Diego, California, AP Labs qualifies as a small business (as defined by FAR 19.102) with approximately 85 staff employed in our facility in San Diego. This primary AP Labs facility comprises approximately 39,000 sq. ft. of office and manufacturing space and is the location at which all of the integration work is carried out. An additional 45,000 sq. ft. subsidiary facility, provides a low-cost manufacturing capability primarily focused on high quality cable and sheet metalwork fabrication
