AP Labs selected for Boeing Australia Program

San Diego, Calif. - 19, July, 2006 – AP Labs, Inc. has been awarded a major contract with Boeing Australia, Ltd. to provide ruggedized computer systems for the Modernised High Frequency Communication System (MHFCS) program.

The MHFCS is a joint service program under direction of the Australian Defense Force (ADF). The intent is to replace legacy single service HF communication systems currently operated by the Australian Army, Navy and Air Force. The new system will support secure voice, data and image transfer between ADF fixed sites and mobile platforms over all of continental Australia and up to 2000nm at sea.

AP Labs has been selected for the design and manufacture of the Mobiles Prime Mission Equipment (MPME), which consists of six types of small rugged computer and encryption systems which will be mounted on various Air, Land and Sea platforms. The MPME is based on Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) computer boards housed in enclosures designed to meet the severe military environmental specifications required for airborne, vehicle and shipboard use.

“What makes the MHFCS program interesting is that it combines AP Labs system integration and rugged packaging expertise across land, sea and airborne environments,” said Eric Tarter, ATR Product Manager. “We look forward to continuing and expanding our business relationship with Boeing Australia and the Commonwealth throughout the lifecycle of this program.

Deliveries of the MPME systems from are scheduled for late 2006 and early 2007 following successful completion of qualification testing at AP Labs.
