2007 Kaizen Events
San Diego, Calif. - 6 November, 2007 – Consistently exceeding client expectations is one of AP Labs core objectives. This year, AP Labs teamed with long time customer, ITT and participated in 3 Kaizen events. AP Labs is continually looking to improve customer satisfaction, and by utilizing Kaizen as a business strategy is committing to sustained continuous improvement.
First was a Lean Event that looked at the production floor and process flow. The goal is to have a more efficient process flow cutting down movement in between operations and removing any unnecessary steps in the process.
The second event was for 5S, a systematic program to increase organization, cleanliness, and standardization of work The focus was in the production area with emphasis in the chassis assembly area. The goal was to better organize the area. Tool boards were installed for hanging up tools. Signs were developed to define staging, Work in Process, Test and inspections areas.
The third event was for Quality System. The return material authorization (RMA) process was evaluated and improvements identified. The goal is to perform better and more effective investigations with the aim of reducing failures by ½ in 2008.
These events have helped AP Labs achieve economic benefits while improving quality, costs and cycle time. These same principles are also applied to improve product development while building on operating strengths and capabilities.
