AP Labs Introduces New Compact PCI ATR Chassis

San Diego, Calif. - 29 January, 2009 – Meeting new demands for small, low cost and light weight rugged enclosures for real time embedded systems, AP Labs has announced availability of the new FS-5985 conduction cooled ATR chassis. Up to five 3U Compact PCI cards are accommodated in a package weighing less than 10 pounds. The FS-5985 is designed to meet the growing requirements for adding new functionality to existing systems or replacing older legacy systems. In short, the FS-5985 is a low risk building block designed to deliver the genuine low cost of ownership that has become synonymous with AP Labs rugged enclosures.

The FS-5985 can be configured to accept external plenum cooling and custom mounting which enables the compactPCI base sub-system to be deployable throughout the full range of vetronic, naval and avionic applications. Inside, a pluggable power supply can be customized to differing input requirements and system loads. I/O wiring to the cPCI backplane is extremely flexible (utilizing a discrete wiring kit) in order to allow fast adaptation to individual requirements and cost effective field support. As a result, flexibility permeates the design.

The new FS-5985 offers the following features:
