The AP Labs FS-4008 is a breakthrough in portable enclosure design. It provides the user with a rugged, portable VME system that is easy to carry, weighing approximately 26lbs (typical).
The durable leather outer casing gives an inconspicuous appearance allowing the capability to carry the system anywhere without drawing attention. The case will fit in a standard international airline carry-on overhead stowage space (21” x 10” x 16”). A lockable top panel allows easy access to boards and peripherals.
The case includes a patented rugged one piece extruded aluminum card cage. This rigid frame structure meets high shock and vibration standards to ensure durability and longevity.
Unique features for the FS-4008 include a hinged front I/O panel and top access for up to four removable peripheral carriers. The standard case is provided with an 8-slot VME64 (3-row) backplane or with a VME64X (5-row) backplane with or without J0.
The FS-4008 comes with a 400 Watts AC input, 4 output voltage (3.3, 5V, +/-12V) power supply that is top removable.

 Application - Field Training System
The FS-4008 has been used in a variety of field training applications which include video data recording/compression/replay for C4ISR, Weapons Sytems Trainers (WST), and Flight simulation Mission brief/de-brief systems.
